Quality Assurance Manager

General Summary:
Our QA Manager will lead the quality strategy, test planning and scheduling to ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within quality standards. This person will lead a talented team of QA engineers assigned to quality assurance and product testing projects. In addition to manual testing, the QA manager will coordinate automated tests. This person will report to the Director, Product Development.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development of test lab network and operating environments to conduct system, stress, negative, compatibility and regressions testing.
  • Provides leadership and management for the QA team, including communication of business goals, performance management, hiring decisions, salary planning, budgets, etc.
  • Manages and executes defect triage process.
  • Creates and manages testing schedules.
  • Responsible for verification and validation of software products.
  • Manages the QA budget.
  • Helps ensure overall product quality

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in QA.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to effectively direct the company’s qualifty assurnace operations.
  • Strong knowledge of the development process, including design and programming; test design; and automated testing and documentation requirements.
  • Proven project management skills to include experience managing multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Strong undersatnding of industry standard Software Test Processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of operating systems and networking.
  • Experience with automated testing.
  • Excellent skills in written, verbal and interpersonal communications; time management; and problem-solving.

Senior Software Developer - Compliance

Reports to Software Development Manager

  • Technical - Participates in system design and setting goals on a project. Converts data from project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to create or modify project or products. Develops software by applying knowledge of computer science and software engineering. Follows project specification and steps for coding the system. Provides program estimates for completion of tasks.
  • Business - Responsible for following priorities set for project and keeping work within time required meeting deadlines. Consults with team to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements and inclusion of internal checks and controls. Communicates with project team regarding both project scope and priority. Assists in estimating required resources for projects. May be responsible for code on one or more products. Keeps abreast of new technologies and offers technical solutions. Adheres to all marketing and business principles of the company.
  • Management - May direct and coordinate work of others to write, test, and modify computer programs. Responsible for creating and communicating status reports to project team and as necessary detailing the project status to the team. Assists in managing, mentoring and training staff on a project and gives direction by communicating expectations.
  • Quality Assurance - May monitor performance of program after implementation including assisting with the installation, testing, maintaining and modifying of the system software so that it operates efficiently. Assists in resolving problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of project while assuring quality of work. Analyzes, reviews and alters program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Replaces, deletes or modifies code to correct errors. Writes description of steps taken to modify system and procedures required to implement new software. Responsible for following priorities set for project, the documentation and quality assurance of code developed and keeping work within time required meeting deadlines. Assists in the coordination of the installation, testing, maintaining, and modifying of the system software so that it operates efficiently.

Is accountable for assisting the successful coding, testing and release of products to the marketplace within product release deadlines.

  • Market/customer Understanding - Knowledge of the needs, preferences, trends and practices affecting customer and market behaviors that have been relayed by appropriate internal employees responsible for gathering data points.
  • Group Development Skills - Ability to facilitate groups, manage teams, resolve conflicts and solve problems.
  • Business Communications - Effective report and proposal writing, presentation skills and listening skills.
  • Technical Skills - Strong understanding of C# and cursory knowledge of C++. Must have database experience, XML and XLT. Appropriate knowledge and application of the technology available in management and business operations. Continue to monitor and develop with technology trends as appropriate to business goals.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Listening to others, providing appropriate feedback, developing and maintaining effective work relationships. Requires initiative and judgment.
  • Ability to reasonably scope research and drive to software delivery.
  • Programming skills in cross-platform technologies and languages.
  • 5+ years software development experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required or equivalent experience.
  • Qualifications that are desired but not required are: Microsoft SQL and Windows Security Configuration.

Senior Product Manager

General Summary:
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including:
gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with the CTO, executive team, engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Senior Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap
  • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Plays a leadership role in the determination and execution of product
  • Leads cross functional teams to ensure product development projects are executed on time and on budget. Ensures stated product and project objectives are achieved when implemented.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in making product decisions that impact the organization.
  • Manages product(s) in terms of product life cycle, growth, fit in overall portfolio, profitability and strategic significance.

Qualifications

  • A BS in Engineering preferred with a minimum requirement of BA or BS in math, engineering, life sciences, business, or other relevant degree. An MBA or other related advanced degree is also preferred
  • While technical expertise is desirable, the successful candidate will have demonstrated past leadership and management skills including problem resolution and strategic vision. This individual will have 10+ years experience managing the product development process and have a strong understanding of the process needed to bring a product to market.
  • Seasoned judgment should have been obtained through relevant industry experience in cross-organizational assignments, preferably in product development life cycle management.
  • Must be adept at delegation, follow-up, and team building.
  • Must have demonstrated written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Must possess highly developed organizational and facilitation skills.
